So how can a car which looks so right from the outside, with most unusually, as others have said, almost no colour it looks bad in, with a price tag that surprisingly doesn't seem a problem despite being a Ford, have such an utterly st, cheap, drab interior ?
If you owned the car, you of course spend the majority of your time looking at the interior. It doesn't look like a £100k car or even a £50k car, let alone a £300k+ car
I like the look of it but I doubt it can be compared with the easy to use everyday supercars like the audi R8, lamborghini hurracan or even the mclaren 675lt. It's so low, and the visibility seems awful. It's easier to do a stunning car without those kinds of compromise that still matter when it comes to road use.
And I fail to understand how such a price tag can be justified.

Just leaving this here for anyone worried about the sound of the V6. It sounds awesome in my opinion

Surprisingly nice bark I agree. I was really referring to the, understandable, US obsession with V8's. The words V6 to an American sound exactly like 600cc inline 3 does to us Just leaving this here for anyone worried about the sound of the V6. It sounds awesome in my opinion

There are notable exceptions: the deep veins of Japanese tuning in Southern California are one example. The smaller and more understated cultivation of 911 derivatives is another. And there are more.
But those exceptions occur in parallel to, and not in place of, the long-standing default.
Ford probably recognises this. And its choice of a high-output V6 for the Ford GT is intentional and profound. Like all OEMs, Ford knows that rising standards for emissions and fuel economy will require more sophisticated solutions from powertrains.
The Ford GT is a way of saying, "One need not compromise when stepping down from eight cylinders to six." And it's wrapped in a design that is spectacular if not beautiful. All of this is intended to help us shift our perceptions. Are you ready for a V6 Mustang GT? That's the sort of shift we'll be asked to understand -- and to embrace.

You hate the exhaust now but I predict they will be a styling icon when it's looked back on in the future. Looks like the designers decided to Go big or go home on that part!
+1Those fat pipes look macho to me. They are unabashedly and literally "in your face." No discreet side exits down low. "I'm a rocketship," they say. "My purpose is power."

Anyone else a little disappointed by the interior? Looks dark, plastic and a little dull but would still love it!
See my reply:Not since the Esprit have I been so obsessed with a car. I MUST at the very least drive one of these at some point in my life. I think it is way nicer than a Viper and the ultimate American supercar. A shame the interior looks no better than a mid 2000's Mustang. WTF!?! Are we Americans immune to making a relevant and attractive/functional interior?
