RE: Shed of the Week: Nissan Primera GT
Discussion
Think from memory the p11gt was a different engine from the sport/sport plus..??
also cosmetically different too..
Gt had strut brace and 150 bhp black top engine..
Owned two gt primera's both p11 models 99yr s reg..
Excellent all round car that can do the twisty bits in style !!
Thoroughly recommend owning one..
Economical and reliable as well as easy to maintain..

Was that a face-lift or a whole new model? I could never work it out

I used to have one of the GTLE's in silver bad it was a cracking car. But that turning circle! Genuinely easier to park a double decker bus!
Interesting what people remember in that a couple of people have mentioned the turning circle as being bad.......but no-one has mentioned it on the similar size Accord Type R thread....where the Accord has an even larger turning circlePrimera was (almost) perfect when I had it... apart from an odd ABS ring. Did miles and miles without any problems. Also some light motorsport, including being the tow car and the also being used at the same hillclimb.
Sport Plus had all the toys, just a slightly detuned engine. The Xenons upset folk..

Can't actually remember my P11 being that awkward to park /manoeuvre but it does seem to have been an issue for a few
I moved from a P11 GTSE saloon to an Accord Type R, owning both of them side by side for a few months.
I never considered the turning circle to be a problem in either of them. Parking is no issue, maybe U-turns would be in narrow roads, but neither of them are black cabs.
They are both great cars. The Accord is quite a bit faster. The SR20DE sounds pretty good but once the H22A7 hits VTEC is a completely different league. It still puts a smile on my face after 9 years of ownership.
The handling is pretty similar, both being saloons of a similar age. The Accord has the LSD, slightly wider tyres and firmer suspension.
Both cars are good budget fun. The Accord being better overall, but also more "expensive".
