When did you last do a handbrake turn ?

my 2 previous Land Rovers had transmission brakes, so pointless trying. My current range Rover is too heavy and the handbrake too ineffective, I feel.
I did get quite good at going them in our gliding club's golf buggy when running errands around the airfield, much to the CFI's annoyance
On LR, Discovery, RR transmissions with the transmission hand brake and a centre diff, you can do a sort of handbrake turn. I found it a useful technique when doing trials to reduce the turning circle - a bit.I did get quite good at going them in our gliding club's golf buggy when running errands around the airfield, much to the CFI's annoyance
Knock it out of centre diff lock
Apply handbrake
Apply throttle to power front wheels only and drag the rears
When turn complete, release handbrake and put it back in diff lock
This technique does give the centre diff a bit of a work out so it's not risk free!
