classics were on a huge upward trajectory at the point this was last purchased in 2021, there was alot of cheap money about. Same with art wine crypto nft etc etc.

It was perhaps a punt that would continue. I suspect todays price is less than 2021 price, even more so in real terms. let see where the auction ends up.
People smarter than me will know whether the owner would have made more profit by chucking his $18,6M at the stock markets over the last 3 years.

The smartest will know to spread it around, even if you are 100% confident the stock market is going up you still need to have money elsewhere…some people just prefer to have a tangible piece of art to hold the money or show their friends.

This looks like the one that is currently on display at Lanzante.
This one is Brown (Creighton Brown, to be precise) , the one at Lanzante's is 'aubergine'. this is chassis 029, Lanzante's has chassis 016 smile
Ah thanks for the clarification. Both are interesting colours, nice to see it was spec'd like this from new aswell.

It's not actually Brown at all... Black over Lilac is what the sign said.

Unfortunately they are incorrect - 016 is Aubergine Pearl, 029 is Creighton Brown, named after one of the then-Directors [sadly passed..]

That's one of the best car videos I've watched in a long time. I don't think Henry was hanging around in the T50 either. It definitely got a much harder workout than in the previous Top Gear video.

The roads looked stunning too. I'm guessing it was shot someone in Spain?

Meaden I think was in the south of france when he did the P1/F1 drive from the same F1 owner a few years (maybe more than a few years, I am showing my age paperbag) back so would guess it's around there again?

Was that a massive crack on the F1 tyre? Not sure I'd have been driving it at all if it was!

Stunning vid.

That was also a Henry video, not Meaden.

Clive Joy lives in the south of France, and that's what it looked like here, similar roads to last time he drove the F1.

Maybe Meaden wrote the magazine article then, but Henry definitely did the video of it.

I have to say, T.50 is very impressive.

BUT... that whine from the gear driven cams would drive me insane on longer drives. S70/2 wins here.

Sounds like GM has churned out a cracking car, seems like it's achieved its goal, and some.

I saw that - it did look like it would explode if exerted!

Excellent vid - he didn’t mention the fan until about 60% through. I hate the look of the rear because of the fan.

Is there a way to put the Cosworth engine into the F1? Just thinking out loud…
