What kind of damage would putting that 330 into 12k miles a year use do to my wallet?
It's a lovely example but the trouble is with a low mileage car you have to keep the miles low to retain the value. That said, I would see a mint 70k miler SE at high 3's personally so I don't think it's too bad a price as retail / you're not going to loose an arm and a leg. I am not a great fan of the colour but it wouldn't put me off buying it.

I think there was a Boston Green one with about 80k on it near me recently and that was up for 4k from a trader.

I reckon if you kept it 3 years and put 36k on it you'd still see a price in the 3's. Put like that it's, what, 2k for 3 years motoring in a nice car.

I've had an E46 LCI SE on those wheels; the ride is pretty refined compared to some BMWs and they handle fine.

ETA: You can buy an Alpine CDC which plugs straight in (needs an adaptor lead IIRC) or a Connects2 (£50 ish) for an iPod which uses the CDC interface. On the latter, I have everything you need except the HU loom. Get in touch if you do buy the car.

I hadn't noticed, but you might be right. Easily fixed, although I suppose it does make one question the all-round integrity of the seller.

I still like it!

Nice answer TJ, I was just going to say that in three years time the car should still be worth a minimum of £3k, and probably nearer £4k.

I actually think the car in question is well priced at the moment, I'm surprised it's not up for more.

There is a 2004/5 AUC one up at £6450 at the min that has more miles and is an auto.

TBH I was more thinking of the stuff that would have been done if it had done 80k that will need doing. Depreciation will never be more than £5k so I'd just have to keep it 5 years to stay within my bangernomics rule wink

I suppose over 80k you'd be looking at replacing some of the suspension bushes, etc. The shock would maybe last, maybe not. Clutch should last that long, driven with some sympathy.

Looks decent value to me - JFDI!

Possible attention to the cooling system similar to E39s but it's not a big bucks job (I'm just recalling from a buyers guide I read in a magazine once). Have a look on E46post and see if there is a guide. That should give you a fair idea of the common issues, not that I believe there are many.

As commented above, it won't hang around long at that price and mileage though.

Nice, huh?
Is it badged as a 560?
It does look nice, especially the leather.

sloppy gearbox, paid 500 U.S for it , and loved every minute.

I want a touring in an ideal world but will crunch some numbers, even if I ran it for 18months its still a relatively low mileage motor.
