Ah, well, that's what the Americans termed an estate car as they didn't own estates in the way that Europeans did. So in logical terms, in the U.K. We'd call this car an estate but in America a station wagon. It's a fender/bumper scenario.

We might be about tonne brought back together by our mutual dislike of other languages though!!!!

Interestingly, for most of these differences our word is French in origin, so we ought to naturally prefer the American version. smile

I always call saloons sedans. Sedan is a nicer word to say biggrin
