The reg is taking the piss. WAS51B doesn’t exist. WAS 518 belongs to a white Lambretta that was registered in 1962 and has never had an MOT. WA55 18 doesn’t have enough letters.

One wonders how a parking ticket has been issued? Or that it doesn’t get pinged by every ANPR in London.

Wassib is an arrogant tosser.

That was April '23 in Nottingham, the G Wagen post reminded me that I'd taken that pic.

It was on the pavement outside a pawnbrokers .....

chinese lady this am , wanted to get into the parking space, watched her reverse over the bike and then leave the back wheel on it,
spoke to her and her response was looking at me with a completely blank face saying ‘ but there nowhere else to park ‘ i said but not onto top of the bike!
Absolute bell end...

I can't stand people parking motorbikes in car spaces.

(As a former biker I feel the frustration of finding every M/C rank in the area filled, sometimes by badly parked bikes that aren't using the space properly, but given the emptiness around him and the area of dry road I am wondering why he was lengthwise and into the car bays... Defensive parking to avoid getting T-boned? Still doesn't excuse someone ramming it and parking on top. Madness.)

To be fair, the M/C parking area could have been full when he parked up...

Maybe that's why our boy is doing it - nowhere to send the tickets to.

I would have thought if th warden checked it out, and couldnt find an owner based on the reg, it would be lifted and shifted to the compound.

Nish Gnackers up thread said they took the photo in April 2023. I guess there's always a possibility that it was WAS 51B, and that the registration has since been taken back by the DVLA, which is why it's not showing on searches now.

If a vehicle isn't actually on the road e.g. when parked fully on the pavement, does it have to have the correct plate on it ?

Never mind the dodgy licence plate, I like the way some passer-by has lifted the wipers up in protest that the car may be parked ever so slightly outside of the space. Maybe when WASSIB, whoever he is, gets back in his car to drive home, he'll notice that someone has lifted his wipers up and realise that perhaps he should park better next time.........

Parking on the pavement is still actually parked on the road.

It used to be a lot more obvious it was no parking. That recent photo on the news article suggests it could do with being repainted and bollarded off again.

There is/was a wheeze where bikers used to park illegally on the pavement, but under a cover as the warden/enforcement officer wasn't allowed to lift a cover. So, the fact they weren't actually displaying a plate meant they couldn't get a ticket.

Of course, some wardens happened to pass when it was especially windy...

No idea if that would work with a car, or if it even still works with bikes.

ETA Wassib can FRO. If that was a common occurrence I'd be tempted to make up a showplate with "TO55ER!" on it and epoxy it to the paint of his bootlid.
