It's all really sad.

The trouble is I don't see what is vindictive about expecting someone to pay for what they broke or then paying your costs when they decide not to and lose. One shown up as a fool,

There's no doubting that DP is a tough bd but he has earned his living since losing his leg at Le Mans by renting out a selection of cars he bought with his insurance pay out. It's his livelihood. The fact that the market has seen fit to catapult the values of these cars to a high level can't really be seen as a reason why someone should just let a customer walk away from their moral and financial obligations. The world doesn't work like that. The upside for DP is at least that chancers won't be rushing to darken his door and his cars are going to generally be in much safer hands going forward.

A group headed by the CEO of Nick Mason’s businesses had organised some serious fund raising activities and Nick and others had kindly underwritten a minimum of £50,000. This was on the table, plus whatever surplus came from the fundraising, plus anything remaining in your fund. Piper refused the offer saying he would continue with the bankruptcy proceedings.
I have the interview with the Official Receiver on Tuesday. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again

Does that mean that the only money on offer was from his supporters? None of his own? I can't believe that Hales has no money or assets of his own that could be sold to raise the balance that was owed.I have the interview with the Official Receiver on Tuesday. I’ll let you know how it goes.
