I fail to understand why you queried my last comment and then state that you own a Renaultsport model.
Regardless of this, cars, like music, women etc are all down to personal preference. 45k for an old NSX is 'imo' obscene, but then again i bought a Clio V6 which in the majorities view is an overpriced, bodykitted Clio with a Laguna engine.

Agreed that is all down to personal preference. I guess the point I am making is that the NSX is still very special to drive, and for a road trip, I would choose that over the R26.R - primarily for the NSX's engine. And funnily enough I agree. Just back from 2,500 miles in the NSX and it was superb - Autoroute cruising at 85mph in quiet and comfort, Swiss alpine passes despatched with aplomb*, Autobahn-storming at 120+ sustained for as long as the traffic permitted (not long, sadly), and then a quick lap around the N'schliefe just because it's there.
Yet my ITR was probably a slightly better companion for the 'ring the last time I was there...but wouldn't have shone quite as much elsewhere in this trip.
The stock NSX is still a very good car - probably no better overall than e.g. a Cayman S nowadays, but certainly no worse, and it's a lot more interesting than a Porker - I wouldn't have had so much attention at the Lamborghini factory or at the N'ring in a Porker, nor would that car have "come up in conversation more than once" at the (Pistenklause) table of one of the guys driving an old F1 car at the GP-strecke this week, as my NSX did.
That's the standard NSX, which is quickly becoming a modern classic - no longer ultra-rapid, but quick enough and regarded for more than just speed or power. The -R is rarer, more focused and quicker - think 964RS, think CSL. So it WILL command a premium, and it WILL become a collectors item (already is, IMHO). If this car is as good as the service history appears, £45k now will seem like a good investment in a few years time...
* Slow steering aside, but you get used to it.

Could not agree more - and knowing the car and driving it and knowing the previous owner very well I can vouch for the car and its maintenance and condition from when he had it and honestly cant see the current owner neglecting it at all as he is a try enthusiast also (as would any potential buyer be) as to buy this you need to be in the know about these awesome, rare and exotic machines.

I think it's pretty typical for Jap stuff. Model helicopter/car stuff is similarly illustrated.
