Little spin ce soir (and pics)
Discussion
Tonight’s little jaunt.
7:30. Finished mowing (well, murdering the lawn). Lovely summers evening. Thought I'd take the Four out for a spin.
Now, Wednesday night is biker night in the pub in Avebury, so there's usually a concentration of police out there. Hence, the discerning petrolhead goes nowhere near the place. More of this later.
Lovely little drive. I enjoyed it immensely. Respect to the biker who came past me and then past the big truck I was tailing. Twisty road, I couldn't see enough to pass. He was small and nimble enough to overtake. He then lifted and signalled to me that it was safe to follow him. So I did. We then spent an entertaining few miles. His bike (looked like a 600) would pull out a gap on the straight bits. The Four would then eat it all up on the brakes and round the corners. Of course, neither of us were anywhere near the limits of either machine (excepting throttle out of corners). It was just disconcerting in what I regard as a fast car to go wide open throttle and have the bike in front just clear off into the distance. Eventually we caught another queue of traffic and as big and powerful as the Four is, there's probably no car on earth that can get past slow traffic like a bike (well, ok an Enzo/Zonda/F1/ might *scare* them off the road a bit quicker.....). Bye bye bike.
Tootled through a few villages. Enjoyed a few faster bits. Generally had a pleasant little spin. I even stopped and took some pictures inserted below (250-320K *each* so be warned). Yes, I know it isn't clean. And I can't take photos. Sue me. If anyone particularly likes them, I'm fairly happy for you to use them in whatever way you wish. If it's commercial/advertising it's probably best to contact me first. If anyone *really* likes any, I've got the originals (4 times bigger). I'm quite impressed with this little Olympus mju:300.
I'll link rather than embed them due to the size.

God I love this car.
Anyway, ended up returning home through Avebury. Remembering the bikers night. An pub utterly full of them, enjoying the sun. Leave and cruise down the road home. Get flashed by oncoming cars 3 times, so I'm seriously looking at this point. A right hander and oh dear. 2 police cars and an ambulance. Looks like someone dropped it on a fast right hander. Now, the ambulance guys were still treating someone when I passed, and his/her mates didn't look too concerned, so I'm assuming they're still with us.
Whoever you are, hope you got away with that, and aren't too badly hurt. I drove home off boost behind 4 of your mates.

Keep them shiny side up guys and gals.

That set of number plates must be very useful when passing 'scameras'!
Only if I'm allowed access to the digital copies and photoshop.....

Seriously, smaller (but still legal) front plate soon. Not much I can do about the rear.....

Be aware of reflecton in the photos though. It is relativly clear in the Open Road pic. Possible a bit more Photoshopping required...
Cheers

Thanks mate. I did see that, but quite frankly if anyone wanted to find out where the car lives overnight it's pretty easy without spending 30 minutes squinting at a reflection......
