First of all, this ISN'T a thread about whether leasing is a good way to source a car, and secondly NEITHER is it a thread about 'I'd rather have a 2nd hand xxxx for that money'. These points have been done to death previously and I'd prefer it if it could be kept as a guide to what deals are out there rather than any pros or cons.

What it is a little insight into current lease offers for those who may be interested, plus also a source for others to post any deals they have found which they think other PHers may be interested in.

To start off:

Audi A6 2.0TDi SE saloon £219.99 + Vat per month 6+23, 6k miles pa (estate £247 pm + vat)

Audi A4 Allroad £268.99 + Vat 6 + 23, 10k pa.

BMW M3 coupe £469.99 + Vat 6 + 23, 10k pa

BMW 730d SE £399.99 + Vat 6 + 23, 10k pa

Mercedes CLS 350 CDi £399.99 + Vat, 3 + 11, 10k pa

and for more reasonable prices:

Citroen C1 VTR 5dr £78.85 + Vat, 6 + 23, 6k pa

Nissan Micra 1.2 Visia 5 dr £79.99 + Vat, 6 + 23, 10k pa

VW Polo 1.2 Match 3dr £95.92 + Vat, 6 + 23, 5k pa

VW Touran 1.6TDi S £151.99 + Vat, 6 + 23, 5k pa

That was a concern when I first posted it, hence the wording at the start.

Oh, and not forgetting the wink

The only complaint I have about leasing is that the companies tend to go with headline grabber prices for like 6k pa, in reality people (me, mainly) want to see to 20kpa prices

Also, 6 + 23 means quite a bit up front. The norm is 3 months.

There are some great deals to be had and from my experience the franchised dealer has the best ones.

Many of those were also available on 3+23, I just could't be bothered to post!

E.g. A6 is £245.99, Micra is £89.99.

To be fair if anyone advertised prices at 20k per annum they'd just get ignored, agree with you at 6k though, it's ridiculous.

I'd be very interested to hear if the preference is for 6+ or 3+ though.

And before I forget, leasing is for tossers. wink

To a point I agree, although my Mrs signed up for a Citroen C2 on 10k pa and after 2 years she's only done 13k.

The email to me said it was business, 'personal add the Vat', however it is worth knowing that some of these are business only or at least you've got to do a very good impression of a business.

The big snag I find on the more "prestige" cars (probably applies to all cars but more noticeable as you go up market) is the cost of options bumps the monthly price up dramatically.

thing is tho, if you are getting a lease car paid for by the company you work for, 6+23 doesn't do it. They all need to be 3x33 inc maintenance to have any relevance.

How does these stack up to what you can get a dealer/broker/wherever (random selection).

BMW 3 Series 318 Touring 2.0d DPF SS 143 EU5 ES 6 - £433.40

Vauxhall Insignia Sport Tourer 2.0CDTi DPF 160 EU5 SRi VX line 6Spd - £412.70

BMW 1 Series 123 Coupe 2.0d DPF SS 204 EU5 M Sport 6Spd - £518.76

Citroen C1 Hatch 3Dr 1.0i 68 EU5 VTR - £156.02

Toyota Aygo Hatch 3Dr 1.0VVTi 67 EU5 - £164.94

Price is "Net Cost to Employee (incl. BIK)" and I can't see anything about an upfront payment. Lease is 3 years with additional driver and 10k pa.

Went for a 730d Sport 4 weeks ago.

4 months deposit and £375 on 36 months; 10k pa.

Not bad for a £65k car that will lose a minimum of £35k in 36 months......

They are of relevance to the private buyer, especially those who have opted out of company car schemes who get a monthly allowance.

How does that Polo price compare with yours btw?

3+33 or Terminal Pause is an unusual way of writing three year leases these days. I appreciate your particular company might want to do it that way but 3+35 has been the norm for years.

Regards 6+ some underwriters may demand this as a condition of acceptance.

Difficult to directly compare as I'm not sure what you mean as 'net cost to employee', however the nearest comparable is for the Citroen as you have quoted it. In the figures I quoted it works out at £114.33 per month over 2 years.
