Which mp3 player to buy
Discussion
I am looking at buying an mp3 player and have narrowed it down to two. The aim is to have a music collection for the Chimaera that does not skip!
So is it to be the iPod 20gb or Creative Zen Xtra 30gb? Both cost about the same, One has more space(not a major concern that is why I'm not going for the respective 30/60 gb), but which is more user friendly, Which comes with better accessories?
Help appreciated

Creative make solid gadgets but they limited to Windows. I use a variety of OS' having grown up with Apple and MacOS but love my Windows Tablet and Media Centre so the iPod is perfect for me. Plug'n'play no matter what computer I'm using.

I have a Creative Zen NX, and I have found it to be great. Not as stylish as the iPod, I admit, but to be honest, at the time, the price/availability was unbeatable.
It does have a nice function that it has a car setting, so that the moment the power comes in from the car adaptor it switches on.

I've an iPod, the Gen3 15Gb version since last May and now it's broken. Kaput. Knackered.
That'll be £159+vat+P&P to get it fixed.
You can't get it repaired from any one other than Apple, you can't put it on extended warranty type agreements and when it breaks / battery dies you have a nice paperweight.
Get a MP3 player from a respectable company with a long warranty!

The iPod has the advantage of working well with iTunes which really is a good bit of software
Until you run out of disc space on your laptop, normally you would just fit a new harddrive and copy the files across but not with iTunes - you have to re-rip the entire music collection as the rips are all protected to prevent copying!
Didn't happen to me but a friend of mine was spitting nails when he did this a couple of weeks back. There are of course ways around it but what a pain!

Sorry but that's absolute bollocks. With even the most basic computer knowledge its really easy to move your collection around. I do it on an almost daily basis.

There's a very amusing little video: http://neistat.com/pages/video_holding/ipod_holding.htm
about someone's revenge on Apple about 'the battery situation'
