This evening at Bruntingthorpe, after a day of fundraising fun in the sun, SELOC attempted to get the world record for the most number of Lotuses (and possibly the record for the most cars of a single marque) in parade together. Here are views looking forward and backward from the end of the runway. In order to meet Guiness Records requirements we had to keep one cars length apart at 10mph... was extremely hard work and we were driving round for an hour. I thought we were going to get the world record for most simultaneous head gasket failures at one point. Not sure if we got the record or not yet, or how many cars took part.

View looking forward
View looking back

Also today we had an Elise GT1 and Jag XJ200 on track doing passenger rides! I did a few laps in an S2 Exige driven by Hyla Breese and it was utterly gobsmacking fun.... Sideways at 100mph!

They're just sooo common aren't they?

Sometimes the M1 is like that, but Beemers.

Nice pics though.

That'd be why I found loads of Elise's to play with on the A5 at about 7pm today.

Well done lads, hope you get it.

"I prefer to think of them as the British MR2"

the above is not reflective of my opinion of the Elise, merely a pun based on the fiction charecter Alan Partridge's comments on Lexus

We still don't know exactly how many cars were on the third lap where we finally got close enough together to get the record (hopefully), but estimates are well over 200 cars. Several cars had to drop out due to overheating or lack of fuel!

The queue was easily a mile long!

Hi Guys,

There were 174 signed up on the start line, we need to check the footage from the 3rd lap to see how many were left. Some of the track day guys were running out of fuel, and others were sizzling in the heat and slow pace.

Total respect to Rolls Royce and their 500 car record, 174 was a real handful!!

Mmmmm, Elise GT1 :dribble: Road car or racing car? Not as theres a huge difference between the two in the case of the Elise
