C55 to CLK63 or E63?

Thinking about updating the motor to a slighly newer one. My current stead is a 54 C55 (Silver) with all the toys and 49k miles with 2 owners (inc me)and FSH. What are these worth now? I know they are very rare cars but didnt know if they are sought after? I was thinking around £12k private, anyone this that sensible?
My next question was - does anyone have any first hand experience of the CLK63 or E63, around 07/08 reg. Is there a big difference in perfomance? And whats the mpg like. Been quite pleased with the C55, had an S4 before this and that was abysmal compaired, the c55 isnts exactly frugal but for 5.5 litres its not comically bad.
