Concorso Italiano, Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside, Monterey.

The best car show on Earth? Certainly looks that way!

Lots and lots of great pictures from the show:

But they are all 360s. Bigger than a Granada and rumoured to be very sudden in the "lets spin " department. Early ones are cheaper than 355s, wonder why.

Check the link out, there's 250's, several Enzos, Dinos, Daytonas and Lambos, Alfas, Maseratis and a very special car that won best of show.

I'd rather see a 330 or a 365 GTC, at least Enzo was alive when they where made. Yes even a 400 or 412, well under-rated.
The Ferrari marque has a number of problems with it's followers. Once ownership was a club for those who know. Now we are sullied with footballers and similar mentally challenged citizens who really don't understand the whole ethos. This is not snobbery, just simple things like checking fluid levels and watching the oil temperature gague. TVR is the same, numpties who buy for the image and have zero understanding. Maybe there should be a test.

They're all just Chav's with too much money and a slightlly better fashion sense.

What is the point in driving to a field full of cars identical to your own? Do they just hang around going 'ooooh look you missed a bit on the bonnet when you were polishin it?'

hehehe

I dont see the fun in going look, heres my brand new car, its perfect. Thats lazy, throwing money at the problem. Show me a 20 year old car sierra in perfect condition and ill be more interested in talking to its owner that the owner of a brand new 360.

Please look at the photos in the link, the majority of the cars are 20+ years old.

Lately, Ferrari have definitely gone a bit "bling". This is evidenced not just by the cars themselves but mainly by their customer base. If it's not a Ferrari most would be driving something like a a Lincoln Navigator - and I'm talking about the UK!

You guys moaning about the cars et just look sooooooo jealous. Maybe you are not, but posting that the cars are too bling or moaning about the dynamics of a 360 just looks sad IMHO.

Say positive things please not negative.

And as for meeting a large number of other car enthusiasts, whats wrong with it? How many VW meets or other vents have you gone to? Why cant the Ferrari owners be as enthusiastic about their cars as you are?

Things like the VW meets are fine were there is a good spread of different marques etc but going to a meet where there are 100 Chimaeras or 100 Escortts is hardly enlightening is it?

Modern Ferraris hold no interest for me that's all ... and as for them all lined up together - it's like Lancaster's yard round the back isn't it

Well I'm glad this thread hasn't been wasted on everyone.

For the rest, if you bothered to read the thread in the link you would see that this isn't a Ferrari event but an event for all Italian marques, as well as a fair few non-Italian. It isn't full of wealthy individuals, there are plenty of old Fiats, Alfa Romeos and Minis there too, all lovingly cared for even though they didn't cost the earth. I'd imagine the reason they are all parked together is to make the show more practical for the attendees.

Now, if you want to drone on about why Ferrari owners aren't enthusiasts (which is UTTER NONSENSE by the way), and how owning Sierras and VWs makes you somehow more enthusiastic, that's up to you - but at least read the linked thread first.

Cheers.

I understood VW meets to mean Virginia Waters' meets ... who wants to go to a Volkswagen meet ... ?

Anyway ... no doubt there are great cars there, no-one suggested otherwise. the thread was hijacked a bit and one-make car meets were discussed, that's all ...

Who is this Virginia Waters and why is she so popular? (OK Showing my ignorance, never heard of it).

Did you bother to look at the link?? You will see plenty of different marques, most marques also being represented by vehicles 20,30 or perhaps even 40 years old.
