Maserati 4200

Does anyone know of a sound clip of this car fitted with a sports exhaust Tubbi etc, as the car is everything I am looking for (since test drive) but need to know the sound will be a suitable replacement for the TVR.

Any other pointers or comments would be appreciated to

There's no substitute for the real thing. Any sound clip you find is going to have:-

• Lost something in the recording

• Been compressed

• Lose even more in the reproduction

A truly glorious engine note often results in a disappointing recording. As a prime example, for a long time Top Gear used to destroy engine sounds.

e.g. [Jeremy] "Just listen to that engine!" <slight whiry noise>

What I'm trying to say is a recording could put you right off, and you'd never know what you were missing.

I hear what your saying, although the sound clips on Tubbis web site do actually sound very acurate, but alas no 4200, so is there anyone out there with a Maseratti 4200, with an exhaust fitted that I could maybe come along and have a listen to?

I must admit I havn't seen many entries on here from Masser owners, maybe max power exhausts are not the done thing on a Maserattis which is even more reason to do it

Was overtaken by one on the M12 last weekend that sounded glorious, even over my TVR, (which is saying somethng as its not the most subtle of exhausts). The reg was interesting too, LOV69. Didn't see the driver too well, but did see a main of blonde hair.. Probably Peter Stringfellow knowing my luck..

and if it is better in the flesh! than my mind is made up, i think it sounds awsome, every bit as good as the 355s I heard at Vmax, only my opinion tho

now i just need to find the right colour combo
