Agreed, I've started undertaking alot recently just to show the f
kers that you can sit in the nearside lane and still go at a decent speed. Either that or I'll make an massively elabourate manouvre for n/s to o/s lane and back again to show that they're really putting me out by sitting there doing 60!!
Most of the time infact it's the middle lane going the slowest and the other two about the same (untill the convoy of lorries!)
Think it's at least time for a campaign of rear window stickers saying something like "left lane f**knuts"

sorry wedgie,its not a stab at you but im just getting very
bored and thoroughly pissed off with all the 'lack of bmw indecator useage' bollocks that seems to never
end on this site,i see just as many dogscocks in mondeo's and the such who seem oblivious to the use of these devices at EVERY roundabout i come to.......in the light of this i suppose we (actual bmw owners) are just better drivers at the end of the day as (according to the lesser mortals)we seem to know telepathicly where the

The Germans do have a sense of humour: "Ultimate Driving Machine". Is that sarcasm or facaetiousness? How can a 318 compare with a Caterham, Elise, Noble, or Ultima? Blue proprellor = numpty tin box 99% of the time. Obviously Pistonheads making up the 1%.
have you tried driving a e30 323/325?
ive got my 323 running on 205/50/15's,the engine is uprated (quite a bit) and it handles like its on rails,the acceleration leaves everything behind that costs a shedload more than i paid for it (£1800 8 years ago) the car is 20yrs old now and it blows new cars into the kirb and the cam profile allows the car to be manageable around town.....the e30 s/six is fantastic value.
you cant compare an e30 to a noble......they are not even in the same league (the e30 isnt an ultra-light,twin-turbocharged car for a start),the only way an e30 would win a contest with a noble is....
1.giving the noble to a blind driver to drive through a set of twisties
2.using them as banger racers against each other

hmmm this post comes up every so often. And every so often I feel the need to say.
I drive a BMW and I really don't happen to think indicators are much use, and rarely use them.
I only indicate when it would inconveniance the driver behind if I didn't. So, cause him to brake, move out of position.
I don't use the indicators as a means of continuously communicating unneeded information to all those around me.
People I see indicating to cars which arn't there give me the impression their spacial awareness of other drivers is poor, or they have only recently passed their test, and I tend to give them a wide berth.
Roll on the what if a herd of wilderbeast suddenly jumped out at you comments.

A lot of centre lane hoggers are in such a daze that they are not going to even notice these signs. Even when undertaken at a great rate of knots, they are oblivious to what is going on around them and sit there like the numpties they are.
It is the ultimate driving machine. Drive any E30 especially the M3 EVO Sport and then make a comment. You might think that an E46 is pants, but tell me another new car 18k-30k that can seat 5, cruise long journeys and m'ways with comfort, with superb build quality and reliability, rwd, that is fantastic drive on b road bashes with taut handling and communicative steering……………..And as for the indicators……that’s very stale.

Yes, third message received from viewers comments. The outside broadcast team and presenter were taking it seriously. The presenters in the studio were not, it was all a bit jokey to them.
Still, no publicity is bad publicity. A few fines and points should really get it sorted out though. Big stick required on this subject.

I really do hope they make people realise just how bloody arrogant they are being.
And nobody does the speed limit these days - Just the other day I ventured out onto the A3 only to find that in order to keep an even distance between the jag infront of me and myself, I had to push 1.1 units, which I was more than happy to do.

Agree absolutely with that - The Wiz (BMW M3 / 325i Cabriolet - both E30s).
Heard this on the way in today.
A positive development for those of us in the 'string up the MLMs' camp.
Listening to the minister this morning was a classic case of our pitiful, almost apologetic government, however.
His analysis of the problem had me somewhat taken aback. Apparently the act of middle lane moronitude is something practiced by 'a tiny minority of drivers.'
WHAT?!
90% of the insects who infest our highways and byways are sub-Henson creations of the worst order and should be used as Niagran barrel test equipment - the overwhelming majority palpably have no lane discipline whatsoever!
£100 fine for blatent MLD (middle lane dawdling), 3 points & £1000 for the second offence and then an evening with Terrence Christian and 'music of the 90s' for a third transgression.
No quarter can be given in this war on abject dunderheadedness.

An interesting point - but I would argue that however
good your situational awareness is, there is always
the chance that there is another vehicle you didn't
see (bikers, for example) who would benefit from
prior indication of your intentions. This is not to
say that it is in any way a substitute for maintaining
the best lookout you can.

Totally agree with you, these blinkered Brit-o-philes obviously have a thing for the hard shoulder. Road Side warriors
I have to say that I'm more of a fan of a tuned E21 BMW, those agressive shark nosed looks, and back to basics handling. Much less understeer as standard in one of these and the shell is a little stiffer. Have to say though, that the E30 (despite the less exclusive-pimpier image) is a better engineered car with better tied down suspension, esepcially in M3 form. I was throwing my E21 323i about around some deserted roads, and it gripped well and slid out progressively and balanced, most fun I've had in ages.With yokohamma 205 tyres it can't be beaten.My own brew of tuned M20 six put out a noise that puts any Triumphs or MGC engines to shame!
