Probably because you only saw a bit of the tunnel in the clip? Doesn't surprise me at all, people drive like idiots as soon as they get in a tunnel, though usually going too ***ing slowly!

Don't worry, red X there means the accident was north of Luton.

I've seen a "special" driver ignore the red X on a straight stretch of the M4 in broad daylight; he was very close to the car on its roof in lane three before he realised it was there. Fortunately the normal drivers had left enough space for the "special" driver's emergency lane change. That was without the sweeping left bend through a tunnel. Lots of "special" drivers posting tonight wink

Accident on M1 today, massive queues, about 30 people used the hard shoulder despite the matrix signs saying 'DO NOT USE HARD SHOULDER'. Everyone is a prick, from Micra drivers to RR drivers.

Someone has to ask... why was the lane closed so early on where there's plenty of room for DB9s to hoon past without incident?

The chap in the Aston must assume that not all signs apply to them, they may continue getting lucky but that luck won't last forever.

Regardless of what type of car it is that type of arrogant behavior is fking annoying but everyone has their excuses.

Happens every time.

Starts about six miles before the incident. They do it because they can.

Most irritating when they use the variable speed limit signs to do this. Every time, you don't know if the next 40mph gantry sign has a camera, but that bloody artic sitting on your rear bumper is local, does know there's no camera, gets pissed off with you for slowing and tries to burn the paint off your arse with his battery of halogen flamethrowers.

Great system, Mr Highways-Agency, well done...clap
