Lotus Exige: Pic Of The Week

This pic looked good in the advert, now enjoy it in beautiful high resolution

'If the seller will permit, surely the image featuring the aircraft is pic of the week/year'. That was 83AndyJ's comment on our Exige Spotted thread and we couldn't agree more. A car, a plane and some actual sunshine in one stunningly atmospheric shot; what more could we ask for.

So a quick email was fired off to Mark (thanks again for your help) and soon the originals were with us courtesy of George Williams (thanks for the photos). Though it's said every week, this one really is fully deserving of a place on your desktop or home screen. The shocking Chrome Orange of the Exige contrasts brilliantly with the flat grey of the plane and the black wheels and the lighting just sets it off perfectly.

In fact, the new Exige Cup would surely look just as spectacular in a similar setting. Unfortunately, our drive took place during Norfolk's monsoon season and the images are rather gloomy as a result; still a mega car though.

Considering how small the Exige is it makes the Dakota looks quite small also.

Stunning shot, was this just luck timing or a skilled photographer or all three?

I actually thought about messaging the advertiser for this pic, now I don't have to. Just to look a gift horse in the mouth, it'd be nice if GFWilliams came on and told us how he took this wink

Thanks for getting this, I have a nice new background at work now.

DC3 Dakota IMO. As for what actual plane it is no idea (if you mean tail number)?

I think there's been more than enough "tweaking" of that image.

That front number plate does need tweaking, on the photo, but more importantly on the actual car!
Still, a great setting, great car and nice to the Lotus Mark getting some coverage.

Are we finally now going to see the V6 Exige on Top Gear, just don't let Clarkson near it!....

That's a street light providing the "sunshine". smile It was pitch black and totally freezing cold/slightly raining, I remember it well, I've never seen so many stars in the sky (not that they show on the photo)!

The number plate leans slightly forward, that's why it looks slightly at an angle from the side, it is level in real life though!
