Join the PistonHeads rolling road day

Test your car's power on the Surrey RR's dyno

PistonHeads has organised a power day out at Surrey Rolling Road. For a mere £35, you can check out just how powerful your machine is, and maybe tweak it too. The owner of each vehicle tested will be provided with a print-out of its torque and power outputs.

Date: Saturday 11 December
Price: £35
Availability: 12 places
Where: Surrey Rolling Road, Yorktown Industrial Estate, Camberley, Surrey GU15 3DF
Contact: 01276 686111; mobile 07787 114847; www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk/

Technical details

  • 4WD, 1200bhp eddy current retardation Dyno Dynamics chassis dynamometer
  • High speed cooling fans to keep the radiators cool during testing
  • Custom built enclosure to help maintain air flow, temperature and noise while testing
  • Wideband lambda measurement of fuel/air ratio
  • Forced induction boost pressure measurements
  • Advanced graphing modes
  • 'Shootout' Mode, enabling locking down of some variables during power testing to make sure results are repeatable on different Dyno Dynamics Rolling roads. Also designed to prevent 'operators fiddle' of results.
  • 4WD Smart System, specially designed to take the complex 4WD systems on Porsche and Volvo cars. Shuts the road down if damage is likely to occur to the 4WD system.
  • High traction vehicle tie down, enables very high powered cars to be tested with no wheel spin by clamping the axle down slightly onto the rollers.
  • Knurled rollers assist in making sure there is no wheel spin when running cars.

Very tempting, had some problems with the car last time it was dyno'd so should be making some good pub-talk figures now!

I would be quite interested in doing this as I reckon my tappets were way out when I last tested at Power Engineering. I need to check what I am doing on that day with the management (being a Saturday so close to Xmas!) Sounds like escaping to a rolling-road might be a good idea Rich...

All the spaces are filled now, but don't fear, we shall hopefully be back with PH RR 2! in the new year.

I am still waiting for conformation from one PH'er..
