A guy I know from another forum owns an original Ex Prodrive BMW E30 M3 BTCC car. He has contacted Prodrive and asked if they could provide any history for the car, such as what races it was used and any results, which drivers used it and anything else that might be of interest. Sadly Prodrive are not so keen to divulge much of it's history, but they are very keen to buy the car back. The owner thinks they are holding back on it's history as it could be significant. I had the idea that maybe someone on here works there and may be able to help.

Cheers

Sorry for another shameless bump to the top of the charts again. I did email everyone that replied saying they knew of someone ,but haven't heard anything back yet. So now I'm not sure if my emails are not getting , everyones away or if the people that do work there are unable to help.

Cheers

I didn't get an email from you Mr B M G, however I will send a link to this thread on your behalf.

If nothing happens, I can do no more. Clearly it would be wrong of me to say who the PH member is, business is business and all that.

Don't know anyone from Prodrive but does this link help in identifying the car's history:

http://freespace.virgin.net/tjl.thegrove/bmwhistory.htm

If it's a BTCC M3 and it's a Prodrive car then surely it has to be either one of the Palmer or Soper cars from 1991?

The E30 M3 in that link was built by Vic Lee Motorsport and not Prodrive . Will Hoy drove it to win the title that year . It's also on the missing list now days.

I'm still looking for anyone within Prodrive who can help with this as Prodrive still won't play ball

Why would they want to buy it back, that is the question?

Is there an obvious reason? They presumably don't have a museum so could a driver want it? Would you sell it, if so why not advertise it and see who comes sniffing around.

Some of the guys at Silverstone TVR used to work at Prodrive, maybe they can put you in touch with someone who can help?

It's not my car. Prodrive do have a museum of sorts so I'm told . The owner has spoken to the guy that looks after their old cars . He won't give-up the info but will buy the car back . They are not letting on to what it's history is for a reason we don't know.We need someone within Prodrive to do the digging/asking.Hoping someone here might know of someone who can mail me if they can be of help.

2 people e-mailed me to say they knew someone at Prodrive .Sadly nothing came of both leads. I don't know if " NDT " was one of the people I was told may be able to help, but if he isn't ,I'd be grateful for any help .
