Not good. I haven't got a desirable car, but if I did it looks like having cctv is worthwhile to at least show what's occurred.

edit can you believe they've arrested two 15-year olds and a 16-year old in relation to (not this one, my mistake) but other carjackings. Beggars belief

I thought this was a post about how they had refused to steal any more cars unless their working conditions improved laugh

Absolutely nothing new here ^^^ unfortunately.

If they want to steal a car the average thief needs the keys and has done for 20+ years.

I know several people who have had:

Car bumped, they got out, knocked to the ground - thief drives off with their car
Attacked on driveway after being followed home from Dealership
Keys hooked through letterbox
3 men with bats, knock on the door and demand keys

I suspect the miscreants will suffer less of a penalty than the Audi owner would for straying into a bus lane.

Own an "aspirational" car and always have your wits about you, especially in some god forsaken place like Birmingham.

Makes you sick.

Slap on the wrist and back out to do the same by next weekend.

Poor bloke probably won't get over that one for a long time.

He would if part of their rehabilitation was being tied to a chair while the victim had 5 free blows with a baseball bat and the option to buy 2 more.

A good friend of mine had his wife and young daughter threatened on his drive by thieves after his RS4.
He won't buy another one as he says it's not worth the risk to his family.
A sad world we live in.

Or buy something grey dull dirty & shabby for Birmingham & other such cities where it will blend into the background & be ignored. Or leave your posh car at home or stay in posh rural hotel that offers a lock-up garage & taxi in.

To highlight how random it is:

Car bumped, they got out, knocked to the ground - thief drives off with their car - Golf cabriolet
Attacked on driveway after being followed home from Dealership - Ferrari California
Keys hooked through letterbox - Audi Q7
3 men with bats, knock on the door and demand keys - Audi A3

Its time the penalties for this sort of crime with Violence is utterly severe. There is a time when certain people should never be allowed to walk the street free & this is one of them.

Looking at the local court listings affray, gbh & using a weapon gets you a suspended sentence & most of those have previous or are already on multiple suspended sentences!

To give you some idea this was one of the court listings from the previous week. Quite astonishing that this man is walking the streets.

In comparison, a court case from here in Guernsey yesterday:
‘ONE punch can cause death,’ a Royal Court judge warned yesterday as he sentenced a 22-year-old man to two and a half years in prison for grievous bodily harm.
Scott Le Page, of Melody House, Rue a Chiens, St Sampson’s, took a ‘wide swing’ as he punched Philip Martel to the head on 22 September.
The incident, at Grandes Rocques Bistro, left Mr Martel with a broken nose that had deviated to one side, bruising and dental damage.

‘Violence in this community needs to be suppressed. One punch can cause death and we have had to sentence on that basis.’
Le Page admitted unlawfully wounding another with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

It looks like a busy road - but the very tall hedges don't help, as does the fact he should have reversed in frown
