After washing, do you use a tyre wall product?

Might find this ends up in the detailing section mate. smile

But yes I tend to dress the tyres on my car every other time at least. Think it finishes off the look of the car when the tyres are properly black.

Both cars are black, so when they're not dressed it really stands out

I always used to, I find my current Michelin pilot super sports always seems to look shiny and dressed so I don't bother anymore though

I do, they look much better black than the brown colour they go if you leave them.

It might but that would be a shame in terms of survey sample size, that's why it was posted in GG smile

I'm not complaining chap, I like a bit of detailing chat as that section is fairly quiet on comparison. smile

It makes so much difference, especially on darker cars.

Never done it myself but when the cars return from service they are always done.

I dont like it personally as the goo they use seems to splash onto the paintwork when you drive it which causes road muck to accumulate very quickly & when you wash the car it seems to kill off the additive, Autoglym shampoo, that I use when I wash the cars at home.

DP of a high end dealership I know says the chemicals can damage the Alloys too although I wonder if thats because wheels he has refurbed are by `Jack the Lad` in a van!!

If they are a bit overzealous with it, it does fling off the tyres and up your paintwork unfortunately.

Applied sparingly or wiped over with a cloth to give it more of a matt look minimises that. A lot of valeters and car washes literally paint it on with a brush.

there is a built in presumption that the car gets washed biggrin

Always dress them. Megs tyre gel applied sparingly. No splatter on the body work. Shiny black car, shiny black wheels, shiny black tyres. All black everything

Tyres eventually go brown if a dressing with silicone is used.

I've started using CarPro PERL Coat Protector. Great stuff.

Can be used on plastics too - a little goes a long way.
