Horrific looking bike/car accident

Looking at that I would say it is a mock up.
I'd agree.. Speaking as someone who has seen a few of these for real, I've never seen a bike end up inside a car. It could well be a real incident thats been staged to look more dramatic by placing the bike where they have. With the pattern of damage on the car, I'd say if a bike hit it, the rider may well have not survived. The driver of the car ought to have done, but any passenger is unlikely to have.

I agree that the picture looks staged.
The one below is taken at a real accident.

Different pictures.......The first picture shows a fiat, the other is a merc 190...

Attention to details........
Shots of bike accidents.....hmmmm, they don't make me feel that brilliant. If anyones got a shot of a black VFR meshed with a Merc van - I strongly suggest they keep it too themselves.
Had to sit at a traffic light at the scene of a massive, truly nasty shunt in Wilmslow near me today....actually watching firemen talking to/checking life-signs on a passenger in a foul incident at a major crossroads. 6 police cars, 2 ambulances, me praying for the lights to change so I could leave. Metal on metal is very very saddening...

Absolutely....I have dealt with quite a few. Not nice at all.
When I was a trainee mechanic in Doncaster, I was at colleage with a copper from the Accident investigation unit. He brought some pictures of an accident on the long straight road from Bawtry to Tickhill. A car had pulled out and a bike had gone into the side of the car exactly like the first picture. It killed three people two in the car one bike rider and did indeed turn the car onto its side and pushed it down the road.
On the first day at colleage the tutor told us one by one to stand up and introduce ourselves, after we had done this he then said if this year is the same as every other I have taught two of you will be dead by the year end, he was wrong it was three all fron accidents.

I do not believe that a bike could have penetrated the side of the car. It is too light to have had the force to do so. It also looks in too good shape at the rear. I would have thought that its front end would have been bent sideways on impact.
I imagine that any rider would have taken instant flying lessons. Whether or not they would have survived would depend very much on what actually brought them to a stop, ie. kerb, oncoming vehicle, and the force of the impact.
I think that photographs of true events would have been far more shocking and educational.

And no blood.
Well they're not exactly going to leave blood on it when using it for a safety campaign are they?
The oddest thing IMHO is there's no passenger door on the Golf, if there was it would have taken the impact and been bent inside. I can't see any trace of it. Maybe the car was stationary with the door open at the time?
Without knowing more details it's difficult to say whether it's real, the strangest things can happen in crashes, see BMW + house incident a few weeks back. I do think it would be odd to use a mock up of an unlikely accident in a safety campaign.
