Well it's true that it's very difficult to win a trophy if you drove your car any distance to the circuit. But a large majority of the cars there were properly used examples and not even entered in the concours.
Also, the owners of the most valuable cars certainly didn't have a 'considerably richer than yo' attitude, and were happy discussing the finer points of driving and maintaining an older Ferrari.

How gorgeous does the 612 look in that colour???
A mightily impressive machine, it's HUGE ! Plus the scolloped in sides, when you see them in the flesh, are a very dramatic styling statement ... impressive.
The only thing I wasnt so impressed with though was the orange peel effect on the paint, which in that scolloped in side, because of the way it reflected the ground and the fact it's a prominent feature, it really showed up badly. Would expect better from Ferrari ... (maybe it was just that one car / colour combo / early example or something)

So can we safely assume that none of these cars are driven properly, otherwise how would you get them up to such spangly condition? What a waste!
There's always one ...
Some maybe, but many owners have a daily driver too, and if the weather's crap it's not much fun in a supercar. Better off taking the Quattro/Shaguar/Beemer/Porsche to the shops.
I can confirm that Nev's 308 gets a good thorough spanking when appropriate. This particular 308 is quite rapid, I only just kept up in my Chimaera, and I was following (i.e. easier to follow than lead).
