hi gang,

for those of you that haven't had the pleasure yet, just a little note to let you know that it seems the Bastard-Safety-Partnership-Camera-Cash-Generation-Moral-High-Ground-Scheme is now using motorbikes to mount their campaign of terror from. i saw one hiding in a layby on the a47 today.

Tragically for him i wasn't speeding so he missed the opportunity to make me immeasurably safer by fining me, jeopardizing my job, and the health and welfare of my family.

Eyes peeled good people, eyes peeled.

best wishes,
OverTired.

What type of device were they using?

LIDAR (Laser) or something else.

god, i dunno what type of camera. a small camera on a tripod. looked new and different to me. the bike was marked up with the Bank-Account-Reduction-Scheme colours and logo.

i wouldn't have seen him if it weren't for a fluorescent bib (which I'm sure occasionally, just occasionally, they'll forget to put on, which of course will make this an even greater, fairer, safer system) and the fact that i was going super slowly cos my speedo is broken. panic braking, anyone? im sure that'll be super-safe. i feel safe just thinking about it.

does anyone else worry that this gives them immense scope to hide behind cars and trucks in laybys now? at least with a van it needed to be on the end of the layby to get a clear line of sight. a bike can be in between stuff and the camera can be set up beside without causing obstruction or loosing valuable safety-enhancing line of sight.

i know I'm not saying anything new here, but i genuinely hate these people. it actually makes me itch with anger. worse yet, the stretch of road they were on has never had an accident on it in the 19 years Ive been traveling on it, but yet there they are, just about every day, hidden in some new nook, waiting to make us all more safe with a letter. i know that the legislation requires that the road must have had a crash on it at some point, but the dangerous bit in its 200 mile length never ever has cameras on it. just the bits where people can speed. you've gotta love a system that makes and breaks its own rules haven't you? or, better yet, writes new rules to allow them to be more crooked. how i love this country.

sorry, overtired. that said, i still think these people are vermin regardless of my lack of sleep. cretins.

My advice: avoid shopping in the town centre and go to Milton Keynes instead.
