Anyone ever insured Cat D vehicle

General question, just curious.


Has anyone ever bought and insured a Cat D vehicle, and did you declare this at time with insurance co.

Not a CAT D, but a CAT C, when I bought the TVR S last month. The guy that I bought it off had bought it as a CAT C in 98. Needed new new bonnet, and front nearside wheel assembly, radiator. He then paid (about £250) to have the work inspected so it now shows on the HPI check as being inspected. I declared it to the insurance and they said that there was no problem. Just to be safe I put a copy of the inspection report and inspection certificate attached to the forms I had to fill in. Don't want them trying to say they didn't know if I make a claim.

Yes, the CL i run is a stolen recovered and after repair has been declared to insurers and not had any probs with cover. I think the ABI have records of damage etc so they would know more about a cars accident history.
