What's all that about then? Just saw a banner on Old Street announcing that they're having an open evening tonight. Can someone clear this up for me, but isn't it rather sad having to pretend you've got a nice motor?

I think its more to let people experience different motors at a fraction of the cost instead of paying for one in full.

Makes perfect sense IMO.

Yeah...but...no...but, Why would I want to pay £500 extra to be able to drive an Impreza? For the membership fee I could buy one.

I joined a few years back when my local branch opened on special deal, I had a Porsche 911 2.4S for a week (Mon-Fri), a Ferrari 308 GTB for a week, a Honda NSX for a week. Also managed to get a red Rover 3500S which was the very first car I drove and have always had a thing for.

The other car I got was a mad Coombs Mk II 3.8 Jag which was looking good til the interior filled with petrol fumes and I had to return it.

I still had unused points left over at the end of the year and would've rejoined but I bought the griff.

For me it wasn't about pretending to own a classic, more the chance to experience a variety of cars I wouldn't normally have the chance to drive. Worth it for the money it cost me.
