Just looking through PHers vehicles and noticed a Silk 700s was there.
Was this a car derived motorcycle base on a FIAT?

What other unusual vehicles have been owned by the PH Massive? any pics?

The closest I've got to owning an exrtaordinary vehicle is the TVR

Nope.

This is a Silk.....

The Silk was a 700cc 2 Stroke water cooled twin made in the Seventies by George Silk.

The motor was a redesign of the Scott engine and the frame was manufactured by Spondon in Derbyshire.

They made just under 140 of the things, so you are not likely to see one very often.

The picture is of my late father's bike, which I inherited, but sold last year.

Incredible brakes and handling, bizarre howling engine that sounded amazing but was completely gutless compared to a 650 Triumph twin.

Dunno about the FIAT, but I am a great fan of bike engined cars.

There are some fantastic vehicles out there.

I particularly like the JZR, which is a loose interpretation of the Morgan Trike.

You can find them with Guzzi, Harley and even Pan European motors, though the basic car used the Honda CX 500/650 twins.

I've driven a couple and have lost count of the number of times that I've nearly bought one.

Also take a look at Tritech....

'twas a Shifty 900 I was thinking of.

I always thought that bike engines in cars seem to work fine, but car engines in bikes are invariably bloody horrible....

I was in two minds about selling it.

It was a lovely old thing, but it really wasn't really getting the use it deserved.

So I decided to stick an advert in the Old Bike Mart to test the water and asked £3800, which is what Dad paid for it several years earlier.

The phone never stopped ringing.

I could have sold eight of them.

In the end I sold it to a chap from Cornwall who had about a dozen bikes, including a couple of Scotts.

He bought it unseen for the asking price and then drove a 1000 mile round trip to collect it.....
