Glyn just spent the day giving my S3 a total cleanse and waxing with astonishing results.

The transformation of the paintwork is just incredible, the true depth and lustre has been totally restored - I had no idea how metallic the paint was until today. It's a cliche but it really does look like a different car. He spent from 8.30am until 4.00pm, despite the weather and despite our outside tap being frozen solid, giving every square inch his total attention - and it bloody shows!

I didn't manage to get any pictures but Glyn did and he promised to email them to me. I'll post them on here when he does.

Worth EVERY penny and much more reasonable than you might imagine for that level of service. Brilliant - can't recommend him highly enough.

Thanks once again Glyn.

Agreed.

I had my 911 done a few weeks ago and am very pleased with the result.

Glyn,

Don't suppose you have any recommendations/contacts for people to use in the London area do you? Was thinking of getting my car valetted in the near future.

Thanks.

That really is a very sharp wet look shine.

What products did he use?

I'm going to be having some bodywork sorted on my S3 soon and would like it to sparkly again all over when it's done, I know it's not really the done thing but how much did it cost?

Drop Glyn an email. It depends what you want doing and I personally think it would be unprofessional of me to quote the price. On the other hand, if Glyn wants to tell you what he charged me, I have no problem with that.

Zymol everyfink....

Shampoo, clay bar, HD Cleanse and, if i remember correctly, Antique Wax.

Only other thing he used was a couple of cups of Nescafe.

I've heard good things about ClayBar, it takes everything off your paintwork but then the work is sealing it there after, but the result is awesome!!!

Paul @ Miracle Detail has a strong reputation.

Or go onto fcars.co.uk and ask who they use for Zymol for the Ferraris. There is one guy but cannot remember his name that a lot of the southern based guys use regularly.

Either way ... Zymol consistently seems to achieve fantastic results.

There are details of prices on Miracle's website. If you look in their gallery they've also got examples of what cars had what treatment. I also spotted a lot of cars from Romans in Banstead, so some dealers obviously do use Miracle. I do know that most dealers (of a substantial size) employ valeters and although Miracle's work is undoubtedly going to be better I don't see many dealers paying for the best - they're business is to make as much on each car as possible and if 'an in-house valeter will do'...

Well, looking at their site the cheapest interior AND exterior detailing is going to come in somewhere around £300. If you're prepping a car to sell then I guess it only comes down to the maths... is the car going to attract buyers who will recognise the level of car (ie the value) of such a detailing? Are you looking to speed up the sale, which a treatment like that is probably going to help with?

I'd guess that most of their work is actually owners who are interested in maintaining (or enhancing) their P&J rather than people selling on. I might be wrong.

Of course, you could always give Paul a ring and ask him how far a £200 budget will go. He'll probably be able to tell you if it's worth doing from a sales POV as well, seeing as how he used to be an in-house valeter.
