They could have at least made an attempt at making it a proper coupe rather than a 3 door hatchback.

be glad they didn't call it a corrado, they should save the name for something decent

The original wasnt exactly a styling tour de force though was it?

Especially in Scala trim...

Given that "Scirocco" means "a hot or warm southerly wind", then that car should be called "limp blustery shower".

Good god i hope not. It looks absolutely terrible with no hints of its heritage.

Burn it.

I don't know, I always liked the Mk1, my father had a Mk1 Storm from new in 1979 until 200ish in silver green like this

Lots of happy memories

The original Scirocco was a very pretty thing especially, as has been said, in Storm trim. The Mk2 could be pretty in higher spec form with reasonably sized wheels and possibly the factory body kit. For real dullness, however, a Mk2 Scirocco 1.5 (I think) with tiny wheels and small head lamps takes some beating - dull like a Golf C but without any room for people inside.

Yep id go for the Mk1 anyday over the 'new' chavved up version. Looks bloody horrible compared the Mk1.

Whats the deal with those ludicrously large wheels? I mean,I know the trend in the last few years has been for ever increasing diameters, but surely they cant get much bigger?

As a styling exercise for a rakish Scirocco type coupe, I would say it's wank.

I think it's a good looking thing. Got a hint of modern Volvo P1800ES / Reliant Scimitar about it.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the front end.

The red one looks good. More worthy of the name.

Now, we just need Alfa Romeo to go ahead with their new Sprint and it'll be like going back 20 years
