Newbie needs help from Bucks Pistonheaders
Discussion
Hi all This being my first ever post I feel kind of cheeky kicking off with a request but my intentions are at least honest. Basically I'm trying to find my way into the world of motoring journalism and have thus volunteered my time to help write the motoring section of the Bucks Free Press.
Rather than roadtests of new models, they'd rather me focus on local folk and what's happening in and around the county. People with intersting motors, well established owners clubs, motoring adventures people go on, that sort of stuff. Basically anything that's going to make for a meaty feature article and be worth reading for people such as ourselves. With Bucks being the home of Pistonheads I'm thinking there's no better place to start than with you guys.
So I'm sorry to start with a plea but if there's anyone out there with a rare or unusual piece of motoring exotica, an addiction to weekends at the 'ring', or alternatively if you know of an event that you think is worth covering, then I'd be really really grateful to hear from you. I can't offer you hard cash, just the promise of local celebrity status and a free copy of the rag.
Cheers guys
Hear what you're saying about Rayners Avenue Gazboy. I don't really know what's wrong with it as it is. It's probably the only junction in the county where people still do the decent thing and let other cars filter in, why they think traffic lights are the solution I'll never know. I'd not thought of doing anything on the local transport mess but now you've mentioned it I reckon it's a good un.
Gazboy said:Indeed - either leave it as it was, or stick a roundabout in.
Just how hard could it be to replace the Rayners avenue traffic lights with a double roundabout? It's not rocket science. And why are they doing roadworks on the London Road at the same time as closing Boundary Road?
The mess it is at the moment means that I now regularly use quiet residential roads to get home, rather than sticking to the main road. Sooner or later Gaz will start complaining about me trundling past his house in the Tuscan
.Cheers Phil,it's going take a bit of effort to come up with regualar ideas and features so I might just be needing that help.
Following Gazboy's suggestion I'm already planning on doing something on the dire state of the wycombe road system, so if anyone else has got any ideas or suggestions for a feature then I'd be chuffed to hear about it.

Yeah I like that idea Phil. Am thinking it could either focus on one modern classic such as the Corrado or look more generally at what modern classics are out there - am thinking 205 GTi, Puma, Lotus Elise, Smart Roadster, TT, M Coupe, that sort of thing. Maybe we need a new thread on what constitutes a modern classic cos I'm thinking there could be some dispute.
