I know i`m going to get some ribbing about this but just let me tell you the figures i got.
I`v got a 2ltr Triumph TR7 DHC, normally thet give out 105 bhp, mine has a high rated cam fatter needles 4 branch manifold sports S/S exhaust and K+n`s.
S+S preparations told me i was getting about 125bhp, i only use the car in summer and its over serviced so its running well.
I don`t hang about when i`m driving it and it never dips below 30mpg, last year i realised after checking it that i was averaging about 32mpg, then i fitted 2 of those magnet things, i set off on Saturday with a full tank the milage read 49.758 at 50.042 i put £20.14p in at 96.9, it was 20.84ltrs then at 50.198 i just managed to get £30 in at 93.9p p ltr thats 31.9 ltrs.

So thats 440 miles on 52.7ltrs i get it to 8.4miles p ltr thats 38mpg, to be honest i showed 206 miles(at my destination) and i think its really 200 miles so i could be 3% out with the speedo, even so its about 36mpg and i was running at 80mph+ (M6 A14 M11).

Maybe these magnets suit older cars, i know there will be plenty out there to say its a load of rubbish but is there anyone out there thats had positive results?.

Totally unscientific. Your driving style patteern could change enough to produce those figures.

Show me an accurate European drive cycle monitored with accurate fuel weighing and exact Throttle/engine speed mapping and I'd beleive it.

If magnets worked that well all car makers would add them as standard..

Utter nonsense. What on earth do you think the magnets are doing?

The current high temperature could affect your MPG.

If you send me £18-30 I'll read the magical tablet of enlightenment (to the untrained eye it seems to read: 'All rub egg') and tell you.

You are quite right even the weather could give different results, if i ran it for 5 hours with the gismo then 5 hours without, the weather could make a slight difference.
But if you accept that i did try to be objective and i`v been driving for 34 years then for the less than £10 i paid for them i might have saved £5 already, and it does feel a bit more perky.

We can see from this simple diagram how YOU can quickly and easily turn your 1.1 Vauxhall Corsa into a 200bhp flame spitting 65mpg automobile

Brilliant!

It is annoying when all the little red bits in the fuel stick together.

On my Riley it could be two things...

1) Holding the car together.
2) Latching on to the car in front to tow it along. (every little bit helps)

I`m glad you did`nt put "er" on the end of your first line.

OK so i`m sad, but i got 174 miles on £21.99 at 96.9p ltr from my BMW 2002 with magnets fitted, running at 65 to 75 mph going to the same place (i fueled up on the A14).

Have you heard the saying "don`t knock it till you`ve tried it".

No?

But you have heard "there`s one born every minute" or
" there`s no fool like an old fool"

Less of the old if you don`t mind.

What bit of his reply was nasty, from my reading you made a derogatory comment?

I believe it simply clips over your vehicle's fuel line, before to the carburetor or Fuel injection rail, or diesel pump without any tool or pipe cutting.

Fuel line, pre-injector I believe.
