Last in the present series of the motoring magazine show. Jason Plato finds out if the skills of a racing driver transfer to the cockpit of a stunt plane as he and a pilot swap roles. Tiff Needell tests the McLaren F1 and Enzo Ferrari. Tom Ford tests the long-distance cruising abilities of the new 170,000-pound Ferrari 599. Vicki Butler-Henderson tests the limited edition BMW 320Si. And Jon Bentley investigates a brand new safety device for motorcyclists - the airbag jacket.

Not a dig at you or 5th gear, but WTF?? A limited edition, near base model BMW?? Are they (ie BMW) getting desperate?

It comes with plastic wheel trims, a lift out pop up glass hatch sunroof, a radio/cassette player and attractive new decals

Only costs £25k (!) and comes with a 173bhp 2L engine.

Apparently all 500 coming to the UK (of 2,600 worldwide) already have buyers.

Read "3-series with a bodykit" They reviewed it in Evo this month I believe. They summed it up as the "Slowest homologation car ever?"

Do you think 5th gear will be giving one away?

Cor, you must have been psychic

I remember the ur-Quattro and Mk1 MR2 used to be able to do 1.22 lateral G back in the 80s. Then again she was never going to pull big Gs driving like that.

Really enjoying this section on Enzo vs Mclaren F1... Runing cost on Enzo seem comparatively!

To see Tiff getting emotional in both those beautiful cars was better than all the Top Gears put together, the noise oh the noise then Tom Ford sharing a lifetime experience in Ferraris finest in the most perfect of settings . The best of em all by a mile

Great episode. I even enjoyed Tom Ford's bit.

I thought the F1 v Enzo part ended a bit abruptly though. I kept thinking they would pick it up again later on.

I liked the BMW feature as VBH was hooning it on my weekend route in the Brecon Beacons.

Beat the sh1t out of TG this week.
