Oh dear, yet another thread! More motoring ejaculate...

If you take the same route to work each day and encounter the same very inconsiderate drivers crawling along at 20mph, would it be against the law to put up a sign saying:

----------------------
R5** T**
Please show consideration
to other drivers

----------------------

I don't have this problem any more but I used to get, among others, the same red Rover 200 driving in the middle of the road on the very few straights and braking hard and crawling around each corner to the point that it could easily add 15 minutes to a 5 mile journey!

Often while experiencing this bemusing driving I dreamed of putting up a sign the driver might see, shaming them and suggesting that if they cannot maintain a respectable velocity then they should show consideration and pull over and allow the line of cars behind to go past.

While pottering around the countryside I will drive slowly to allow passengers to enjoy the sights, but the very least consideration for others will see me indicating and parking if I am holding someone up.

It would be nice to prod others to give such small gestures.

But... would they take huge offence and come after me with the law?

There is a site already set up doing this. Lots of discussion about here on PH somewhere....except this particular site is more geared for the Rover Driver to report you for tailgating him or overtaking him recklessly at 30mph....

They'd probably stop, get out the car and then read the sign! Causing even more tailbacks!

Why not sneak up behind them and stick huge sticker accross the back of their slow moving ass?

I followed an elderly clown in Celica today, leaving Stafford towards Penkridge, doing 25 in a 40, wandering from kerb to cats eye, probably drunk or on a mobile. Eventually I gave a real LOUD beep on my twin horns to wake the clown up. He then turned onto the M6 sliproad, hit his brakes, stopped, then carried on.

I've no idea if the old clot was having a heart attack or had just escaped from an old fogies home. hehe

Ive felt tempted to do something on those lines myself many times.Legality? would come under libel laws i guess if at all, would be best to have evidence to back up whatever you were alleging.
