What about the 'Triumph TR8', and possibly the 'Argyll' of 1982 (not really sure about the +2 on that though)

The TR8 was a 2 seater.

Mind you, having owned an MG BGT V8, I can say with some authority that it wasn't really a 2 plus 2.

You are right, I bow my head in shame!

So pwd95, what is this leading up to? Are you thinking of changing your car again?

Nah, just thinking the other day, for a 2+2 you'd have to make it yourself .... Elite/Eclat/Excel conversion or Capri or whatever. Apart from the Tasmin (very small numbers, 6 I think) there was never a production job was there. scratchchin

Grinnall Specialist Cars Limited definitely did a 2 plus 2 conversion on the TR7 as well as 100s of V8 conversions and other body mods. Probably more 2 plus 2 V8 TR7s made than 2 plus 2 V8 wedges.

Grinnall converted about 300 TR7s not all into V8`s but only a handfull had the 2+2 conversion, which IMHO looks crap.

Plenty of Triumph Stags were converted to Rover V8 power (and Minor 1000's!).

Then there was the Freight Rover Sherpa V8! You could have a 2+2+pickup or even a 2+2+2+2+1 if you bought the 9 seater mini bus version!

Think I'd better shut up now!

The outside of the car has nothing to do with how the inside looks, i had a Grinnall 3.9 with the full body conversion with only 2 seats the 2+2 just does not look right inside.

Ginetta G26, (if that counts as it was a kit?) There were a few that had Rover V8s stuffed into them.

I think that particular conversion was excellent apart from the orion back lights. A lot of kevlar was used.

I did a 2 plus 2 conversion on my 8. I kept it quite simple and the passenger would sit across the car. Bit of a squeeze in a fixed head but it worked.

Capris are quite frightening enough with the 2.8 lump in them, thank you very much.

But they sound terrific and are great fun.

I love mine, even though it can't steer, can't stop and handles like a pissed camel.

Back on topic....

The only other RV8 engined 2+2 that I can think of was the Marcos Mantis.
