You'd have thought the numpty who wrote the article would have got the clue what the car model was from the name Red VICTORrolleyes. And the bloke doing the interview was pretty funny as well. "So what makes it so fast?" 2000HP THAT'S WHAT!!!!

here's a common fallacy...drag race cars don't handle...lol
I guess generally they don't,but this has fully adjustable damping all round.I can set it up to handle, not like an F1,but it'll go round a corner better than you can imagine...
So,as you come to the corner i'll be at the top of the next straight...
don't mention the brakes though...

Just out of interest, how many original 1971 parts are still fitted to the car? I'm guessing a few body panels and the lights (don't tell me it's the brakes yikes)

because it's a 1972 shape designed to go 104mph i'd say a safe speed(ie,bodywork staying on) would be just over 200mph.Even then i think that the doors would be trying to fly off.For top speed records i'd have to seriously modify some aspects of the bodywork. If that was done then over 250mph with ease within a mile....

then i'd need a new lifestyle,and a 2 car garage...lol
To convert a Victor to run a top speed record i would have to take all the front lights/grille off and paint them on....imo that would look terrible...
I'd have to do a Monaro instead......

Bloody well done that man!!

Ever thought about taking it to Le Mans and doing the drag race thing in the car park on the Sunday night? There'd be a few people turn up for that.

I can't help thinking the fuel consumption on the way down might be a bit of a shit!

Andy, can you give us a break down of one of the 7 second runs, as in 60ft 330ft etc etc?

Cheers..

Nicely done, chap.

I seem to remember that parachute deployment on drag cars is via some kind of explosive charge... is that correct? And do you have to remove it to drive on the roads in case it goes off and totals someone's shiny Mondeo in Sainsburys car park?
