This must be the first non off-road concept in about 15 years that has n't had oversize wheels and zero profile tyres.

That's probably because it's got drag slicks on it because it's a dragster
The normal version has 20in wheels minimum I'd say (but they don't look oversized)

I know, I just did n't express myself very well. What I was trying getting at was whether this could set a trend for dragster style wheels, as opposed to the 20+ inches which are the norm.

I'm with you on that. I've seen several Foose cars that are sublime but look seriously comprimised style wise with hoooge wheels and rubber band tyres, they would have far suited the originals scrubbed up.
There's room for both in the retro world IMO.

Nice, but I prefer the "street" version, AND with 20" wheels

On a similar theme, how about a Plymouth 'Cuda version (ok, I know the brand is dead, but this is just a photoshop).

New Dodge Charger?

Ah I get ya. Yes I think either can look good and some cars really suit big chunky tyres on smaller wheels, especially retro ones. The boggo mustang on 16in wheels doesn't look underwheeled even though the body is massive:

But at the same time it loosk awesome with saleen 20in rims:
