I read this article this morning on Yahoo Cars....
-------------------------------------

Speed cameras in Scotland could be phased out under a new safety initiative. Trials will begin this month of vehicle-activated flashing signs which target passing cars with a 'slow down' message and their reg plate.

If these successfully curb speeds, they could replace Gatsos, bosses at Lothian and Borders Safety Camera Partnership say... The units have already been installed on 15 stretches of road in Edinburgh and West Lothian.

-------------------------------------

This makes a lot of sense to me. Well done the Scots and more power to your elbows. I hope this scheme works as i love driving in Scotland and it may mean less speeding tickets and more trafpol on the motorways which i think is also a good idea. But this is an initiative by the Scamera Partnerships not another body or the roads minister etc..., so.......

Is there some alterior motive to this?
