in the process of looking for a TVr but have had a HPI question i've been meaning to ask for a while.

once a car has made its way onto the HPI register is there anyway that it can be removed.I've heard conflicting views on this before, one that once its there thats it , it stays, and the over view way that if it gets checked by certain companies ie autolign it can then be removed from the register on thier say.

is this the case?

clarification on this wouldbe greatly appreciated.

not as far as I am aware if it was autolign inspected after January 1995 - if after, it will stay on they but condition approved after autolign have done their tests (which are very thorough and though repair is A1)

oh - and pointing at you.

I think that it depends on why it it on HPI.
A right off will say.
A car loan/HP can be taken off.

Yes it can be removed depending on what has happened.
If a vehicle is shown as stolen but is recovered with no damaged then it can be removed at your request. (this has happened to me)
If it has been damaged and repaired then it can't be removed but you can have it's status changed via Autolyn. They will inspect it then give it a 'condition inspected marker' which means its been damaged but repaired to a good standard.
Hope this is of use.
