...who realised her turning was on the A421 by Bedford and Sandy was coming up and decided to chop from the fast lane to the slip road but was stopped by the raised kerb and the road sign i salute you.

In all the days i have travelled to work i have never seen such stupidity in my life. I hope the phone call you were in the middle of wasn't to disrupted by the sudden loss of your front end and your face meeting the steering wheel...

Anyone seen the channel 4 'between advert bit' where the merc locks and up cuts across to the slip road? It was like that except she mounted the kerb and sign.

I would count yourself lucky you didnt hit the mini bus full of kids...it was close. Next time i see you i will give you a wave in support of your actions.

Rant over.

amazing how people will risk their life just for the sake of not having to turn around at the next junction etc. we're not even talking about cutting someone up a bit, or doing a bit of undertaking.

i saw a similar incident on the A3 turning off to Guildford. Picture this: wet road, couple in a Fiesta have missed the turning and make a last-second attempt to cut across the chevrons and narrowly missing kerb. i haven't tried it myself.. but doing an instant 40 degree turn at 70mph takes some balls - said Fiesta did at least 4 pirouettes before coming to a halt on the slip road.
luckily it's 3 lanes wide and no one else was trying to exit the A3 (in the normal fashion) at the same time. must have sh*t themselves with fear.

Pah, that's nothing. In California I saw an SUV cut across 5 lanes of motorway traffic, drive over the kerb, over the grass, down the hill and onto the sliproad a good 30 feet AFTER the sliproad had branched off the motorway. Must admit she wasn't on the phone at the same time though.

Still... nice to hear about an off-road vehicle actually going off the road for a change laugh

A might of mine pulled the last minute slip road attack trick once probably doing 80 at the time! Span past me mid tankslapper and shot off the embankment like a carrier launch directly in to a motorway sign-cue one kinked roof etc on a metro gti,one annoyed driver and many amused mates. This was not the only stupid crash he had!

And to the wench in the Blue C3 on Worthing Seafront this morning.

The give way markings at the end of your road where it joins the road I am driving along means that you f*cking well give way to me.

It does not mean that you inch out further and further into my lane that I am driving along because you can see a gap coming in the oncoming traffic.

If I want to let you out I will at MY discretion. Not bloody yours! This also means that you are not permitted to give me abuse through the windscreen of your car as I drive in front of you.

YOU GIVE WAY NOT ME!!!!

and relax..

Maybe you want to let the police know that you witnessed the incident and give them the details about her being on the phone and missing her turn, just incase she tries to tell her insurance something different.

and to the woman in the Picasso who, when I pull into the central reservation at Gt Harrowden Crossroads on the A509 to turn right and await traffic to clear, pulling up alongside me in your wretched high sided playpen and obscuring my view of oncoming traffic, and then helpfully frantically waving me out when YOU think it is safe does not help......

Your attempts to signal when I,in my car, containing my baby daughter, should drive out blindly into 50 mph oncomeing traffic just because you cant be arsed to wait ten seconds really dont help. When I see a gap which I consider big enough, I will make the judgement, not you.

....and, relax.....

and to the good looking girl in Guildford who, whilst walking down a busy road and wearing her IPOD, walked straight across a T junction in blissful ignorance of the rest of the world, and me that had to take avoiding actions to miss her dumb fu@*ing arse. How she didn't get wacked is still a mystery!

And top marks to the woman I followed through Stafford yesterday morning, who appeared to be MARKING SCHOOL TEST PAPERS as she was driving along!!!!! I thought she was reading a map, as she swerved and meandered her way through morning traffic, but at the lights I pulled alongside and she had a pen in one hand and was reading and ticking things off on a wad of papers held in her other hand, WHILE DRIVING !!!! Unbef*ckinlievable!!

...and a salute to the thirty something bloke in the deep blue Ford Focus, driving eastbound on the inside lane of the M62 near junction 27 yesterday morning at about 8.35, doing a steady 45 mph with his hazards on, phone in one hand, map held in place with other hand over the steering wheel and I can only assume steering with his knee.

Pure class.

Ridds, I have to do the edging out every single morning - effectively forcing my way across the [slow moving] traffic where I want to turn right, because not one of the selfish fkcuers travelling at no more than 10mph on the main road will ever let you out, they suddenly all decide that being 20 foot further forward a couple of seconds earlier is their right and they will exercise it and are totally selfish cntus.

almost daily, I get bizarre looks and more [I have had to get out once, the gobby little sh1t soon decided he'd rather hide behind his window], but if you did not, you would still be there 10 minutes later, having missed your train, and getting to work an hour later.

The problem is selfish and inconsiderate people on both sides. [I know that the Highway Code says, I also know what practical reality is]

Tonker, I have to wholeheartedly agree - there are one or two roads I have to get out of, which are side roads onto bigger roads. If I sat there waiting for someone to let me out, I'd be there forever and always be late for work.

So instead, I have to bully my way out - I force my way in front of the oncoming traffic, and usually you find that the traffic on the other side realises you mean business and let me in.

To many times does traffic build because some wanker feels that he needs to get to work ten seconds quicker.

My dad always said "one in, one out" - meaning that if you let one person in and then move, and this get repeated, the traffic actually moves quickly.

Granted, if your doing 60mph along an A road, you dont need to do this, nor would I pull out on you. But in town, why be a tosser, let someone out and make yourself feel nicer about yourself when someone is genuinely appreciative
