On BBC London now.

Some woman who (yes sadly) lost her mum and daughter to a "speeding driver" says it is totally irresponsible to drive in a tunnel at over 100mph....someone could be knocked down and killed.

Just watching this on BBC now. Not a very clever move. We all speed of course, but videoing yourself doing 130mph over the Dartford crossing in a procession of TVRs and sticking it on YouTube isn't going to do anyone ever favours.

Seems Kent police are stufying the videos to see if it could be used as evidence in prosecutions.

I ageee. 100mph through a London tunnel is totally irresponsible. But what's that got to do with the London Tunnellers?

Edited to add: Ah, I see - more to it that the usual drivel...

hehe

Heartfelt sympathy and all that, but sorry luv... absolutely no connection whatsoever!

Any *Erm, chooses words very carefully* convoys I've been involved in have been very responsible. Brisk pace on open A roads, clear D/C's etc and a very respectful attitude towards villages, residential speed limits etc.

I half expected some moron to mention prison, but I think the producers saw the irony a few weeks after stating there was no room for rapists! rolleyes

Honestly... shout Go and bother someone else!

Like the little chavs that were sliding their saxo's between parked cars in the car park at the gym the other day. Police not interested because 'they are only having a bit of fun' ranting
That's KENT police as a point of interest...

The plonkers who filmed themselves doing a SPEEDO recorded 130mph over the bridge are pretty stupid. Blow out........crash...........splash!

But the road was completly empty (apart from foriegn lorry, from what I saw)so they were not really endangering others.

BTW did you see the girl reporter in the Galaxy driving over the bridge (in passenger seat) without seat belt?

Was her mum and daughter lost in a tunnel? I think not. Who's going to be crossing the road in a tunnel anyway. Somebody who's walking along and suddenly thinks, "hey, I like the look of that brick wall better over there more than the one I'm walking along over here, I think I'll cross the road without looking because that greatly increased volume of car engines can't possibly be in this tunnel...."

In fairness, her inclusion in this piece was down to the BBC and the assigned journo, not the poor woman. We should probably be leaving the poor woman out of this discussion. As we should probably be acknowledging that driving quickly in the right circumstances isn't necessarily bad. Videoing yourself doing it is a bit tttish however.

1. To the absolute fvcking rodwallopers be they PHers or not (and if they are I HOPE YOU ARE FVCKING PLEASED WITH YOURSELVES) who filmed this and put it on YouTube, well done for giving the lentilists/Livingscum/the Greens/New Labia and the anti car lobby the best possible fvcking reason to crucify us all and ban the enjoyment of our pursuit. You utter TITS. Speed if you must, when you're not going to do any harm to anyone but yourself (for godsake I've done 175mph in mine when the [German] law allowed..........) but don't completely ruin life for the rest of us you tw@ts.

2. To the BBC. Why not try some unbiased journalism for a change? Fvkcing leftie shitcvnts.

In fact thanks to both groups for completely boiling my p1ss and ruining my night.

Oh b0llocks I am off for a drink.

What a non-story.

Take one incident where nothing happened, add two vox pops that suit the tone of your article and stir in a load of emotional interest. Why did they show the footage to the poor woman who lost her child? Bit cruel isn't it?

Having said that, filming yourself doing silly speeds on the public highway ain't exactly wise.

Hold on a minute. That speedo showed 130 - but it only went up to 140.
So not a TVR or other performance car - so what was it?

the footage with the TVRs in shot didnt actually show any speeding from what i can see, and the wind noise from having the roof down adds to the the sense of speed unfortunately.
the rest of the footage is foolish but a very weak story IMO. i feel sorry for the poor mother beiong dragged into it.

hahahahahaha brilliant

ok I liked the 2nd tunnel vid I saw but the first one made me think of all the comments on here about "chavs" at "McDonnalds" and failed to see the difference, other than chav was in a nova.

Brill, well done who ever as this is 100% chortleworthy - almost up there with that kid that recently got arrested after bragging about the details of his accident....
