Goodwood breakfasts cook off
First Sunday meetings start next month
Goodwood has announced the themes for the 2007 season of Sunday breakfast meetings, following what it called "the huge success" of the 2006 Goodwood Breakfast Club season in its inaugural year.
Next month, the Vitra Café at the Goodwood Motor Circuit will again host meetings for enthusiasts on the first Sunday of each month until October (excluding September, when the Revival is being held).
The Goodwood Breakfast Club was launched last year with a total of seven meetings, every one themed, and each attracting a petrolhead audience. For 2007, the meetings will get new themes, plus other initiatives "designed to appeal to enthusiasts", it says here.
In addition to great cars, motor cycles will also be encouraged to attend, with a dedicated bike day being held in July for the first time. Further enhancements will include marque specialists on hand, selling quality parts and accessories that reflect each monthly theme, as well as the opportunity to take a flight in the historic Goodwood Harvard aircraft.
The Breakfast Club offers the chance for enthusiasts to enjoy a fun Sunday morning drive on the roads that lead to Goodwood, admire some interesting vehicles, and savour a home-reared Goodwood organic breakfast, served at the Vitra Café, based at the circuit’s iconic old clock tower.
A selection of vehicles, appropriate to each monthly theme, will be parked outside the Vitra Café, with a wider variety of other ‘interesting’ vehicles displayed in the paddocks. Regular vehicles will be directed to the public car parking area. As with last year, admission to the Breakfast Club will be free, and all visitors are welcome.
All 2007 Goodwood Breakfast Club meetings will be staged from 0830 to 1200 on the first Sunday of every month, from March to October (excluding September).
The first of the meetings will be held on Sunday 4 March and, as last year, admission is free. PH's experience is that, to avoid queuing for ages to get your breakfast, you need to arrive early -- by 0930 preferably.
We're told that a Web site will shortly be up (see link below) that will list each monthly theme and the breakfast menu.

One prime example of each of these cars will be put on display outside of the Vitra Café.
A full list of all 50 eligible cars will be detailed in the revised Goodwood Breakfast Club website, available shortly. Suitable cars include an Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 and 1953 Chevrolet Corvette.

Oh and I can't wait for these to start up agin, I cannot think of a much better way to spend a Sunday morning than a nice hour long blast through the lanes with the roof off followed by one of the best fry ups I have had in the greatest surroundings.
