Well... the sun came out to play and so did a lot of TVR's!

Glorious weather... hood down... and the start of a mini convoy for some of us! Alf Essex arrived, then a few others, then a call to say that another was going to be late... and eventually we headed off.

Got about a mile down the road, and we got flagged down... another Chim en-route... so we all pile through the BP services and head off to Hatfield Peveal to pick up the Dodger...

On the way, the mobile goes... "Podie, it's Mel!" to which I reply.. "Mel, who the is Mel?.. oh THAT Mel! - where are you mate" So Mel says "look in your mirror, I'm the car on the wrong side of the road!" - oh, and he's runnig on vapour!

So, we pull into the pub to meet the Dodger, and this angry woman STORMS out to confront me! "What are you doing, we're trying to run a business, so bloody noisy" Politely said that we WERE coming in for a drink, but we'll carry on now...

So onto the A12... and off to get some jungle juice for Mel. Get to the BP garage... only to find 3 other TVR's in a layby, and two of the Chim's in our convoy follow them, rather than coming to the garage!

Filled up with petrol (MEL!), the Chim's returned and FINALLY we had our convoy up to the meet at Great Totham!

Lovely day, good time had by all and I've got a few digital piccies that I'll post tomorrow morning! (not doing them over 56k!!!!!)

EDIT - nearly forgot! Didn't really have a chance to catch up with a number of people - Lensey, the Dodger and Mark J being 3! - Hope to have a next month!

Was indeed a fine day.

Did we get to meet? I was in the non-TVR Racing Lorry ;-)

I finally made it up there, although I did turn back at one stage when the speedo on my Chimaera packed up, it started working again though, so I turned around and made it up there.

Bloody thing has stopped working altogether now.

Who was it in the helicopter?
[wishfulthinkingmode] Wonder if they would let me land my Lear jet down the drive? [/wishfulthinkingmode]

That is a fine tool. I fell in love with those AMV8's in a bond film (set in the snow).

How does it handle? Is it reliable enough?

handles superbly -- mine has the X-pack Zagato suspension and engine pieces, together with a handling kit (basically big antiroll bars) as well.

reliability? extremely good -- lives outdoors, starts every turn of the key, in 3 years/50k miles). Regular servicing is critical, as is a whole heap of post-production modifications from the geniuses at rswilliams (www.rswilliams.co.uk)

brembo discs, brembo race calipers, pagid blue pads, aeroquip hoses, new servos, race differential mounting cradles, race starter motor, trucksized solid-gel battery, etc. Then the hifi (nakamichi MB100 head, amps, 8 infinity reference speakers plus custom built 12" infinity reference bass unit in boot). Then all the usual servicing and tuning stuff which it just eats up!
