Hi there,

Many thanks to a member of this forum who told me in an earlier post that Sturgess the Jaguar dealer in Leicester had a Martini XJ220 Race car in their showroom.

I sent an e-mail to the dealership asking about the car and managed to get along there earlier today for a good look.

The car is an ex Italian GT racer but has at various times been raced in the UK, in fact it still has a scrutineering sticker from a race in 1994 at Donington Park attached to the rollcage. The car is up for sale at £135,000.

Here are some pictures I managed to take of the car during my visit.

Hope you like the pics.

Regards

Tim

Nice Martini, disgusting replica!!!

Stratton Motor Company has a stanard road car XJ220 for sale at the same price. Would have thought a racing one would possibly go for more - paying for it historic value?????

The original concept did.

Mind you, it also had a 48valve V12 and 4wd. Jaguar just did their now commonplace trick of showing off an amazing concept, then building something else.

The road and racing XJ220 are in February's copy of Octane. Very nice too.
