Is it just me or do you find it hard to take people seriously when they abbreviate three-letter words into made-up two-letter words, fail to use capital letters properly and omit apostrophes?

I agree with 0to60. I was just thinking the other day what a terrible state the roads are getting into where I live as well. Maybe some of those huge tax hikes could be spent on sorting out but I very much doubt it. Unless councils have to secure funding for the next financial year there is often little done until March

Now, now alt, let's not get all pedantic, I often type like that when I can only use one hand, when the other hand is holding the phone and I'm steering with my knees and I have to change gear with my tongue as I drive down the rough old roads to which our learned colleague refers.

Seriously though, round my way, there are a variety of quality of surfaces - I suggest you scout around and find and utilise the best ones and ignore t'others. Having said that, at this time of the year, with frost damage and all that, even some of the roads I'd expect to be OK are only good for abseiling.

Check on your local councils website, there should be an online form to fill in.

You may be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
