Just to say that the Road Pricing Bill will have its first appearance before Parliament today.
Really p----s me off to think that bliar and his little coterie just plough on regardless, despite the MASSIVE opposition displayed in the Petition a couple of months ago.
Perhaps the answer is to let them try , and then see what happens.
What say you ?

They are talking about councils running a trial scheme, must be falling over themselves to register. What with road tax, fuel tax, council tax and now talk of this new tax i think be cheaper and buy a place in Poland and register the Porker there .I can then drive around here and not even have to worry about the latest digital gatsos. Saw a new GT3 parked outside the local government handout place,Registered in Poland!!.Makes you wonder why we bother.

So this is how they plan to phase it in; using the local authorities to take the flack as they gradually build a surveillance empire. The local authorities will grab the opportunity with both hands, it allows the local jumped-up martinets ever more power over our lives, and they raise a huge amount of revenue into the bargain, to no doubt spend on more air-conditioned civic centres for their cosseted, under worked staff and the subsequent pension schemes.
The secret, I think, it to buy a tiny plot of land on the Isle of Man and register your car to it. As the Isle of Man is part of the UK you won't be affected by the rule that a foreign-registered car can only be here for six months before it has to be UK-registered, but as the Isle of Man has its own registration plates you won't be caught in the road-pricing scheme. I think all that's right anyway. It's what we concluded in a lengthy PH thread about ways around road-pricing a while back.

Hmm, time to buy an acre of land on the IoM and then sell it off in inch-square plots methinks! Gassing Station | General Gassing [Archive] | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
