I'm researching the above at the moment and would appreciate your input..

I'm looking for a cheap but reliable car for work that will take the pressure off my next piece of pork (whenever I get it...)

Because of the tax system in Ireland .. It must be;
Less than 2 litres.
About £5000

I plan to run it for at least 5 years , putting about 5k miles a year on it
Above all ... It must be reliable , I don't want to be bugged with electrical gremlins , etc etc.

I'll consider anything!!

Opinions?

I'd say you can't go far wrong with a last-generation Golf - quite a few under 5k from main dealers...

what he said. same as the golf, just cheaper.

the focus is a cracking drive, but i think youll get more for your money with something like the seat.
