There's a new car magazine on the newsstands this month - Octane.

It's seems primarily aimed at the classic/historic cars, but with a dash of the modern stuff too. (eg, there's a test of the Ferrari 250 GTO v Iso Bizzarrini and then a test between a Noble and a Murcielago).

Some well-known names adding their input too: Damon Hill & Sir Stirling Moss etc)

A good read....and I love the name

The Ferrari vs Bizzarini story is very good but some of the other stories and editorials leave a little to be desired.

Yeah i had a browse...Liked the bit about Damon testing the Lambo and Noble....Kinda fills the gap that "Fast Lane" left many years ago...(if anyone remembers fast lane???)

Scanned a copy this afternoon while Mrs Elite though I was trailing along behind her in Tescos, looked like a competitor for Classic and Sports car, if I'd had £350 in my jeans I'd have bought it, but not today, wasted it on Lottery tickets instead, needless to say, I'm returning to work on monday

I'll be shopping at Aldi from now on as Tescos is obviously really expensive.

Lidl - when you are too pikey for Tescos

I will keep my eyes open for Octane & yes I do remember Fast Lane, I was reading an old copy I found earlier - the one with the Vector W8 on the cover - remember that

Picked up my copy today. Not impressed.
OK, the cars they test are good but its all been done before. A Ferrari 250 GTO is an amazing car but the article does not tell you anything you have not read before.
The articles are bland aswell, wont be buying it again.

Bought the first edition last week. I reckon it will manage about four copies before folding. Needs a bit more originality with the articles.
