Bloody Polish Car Wash

Dont get me wrong, I've been extolling the virtues of the polish car wash near me for a while now - £5 and they do a really excellent job. The car is always immaculate.

Until I noticed my brake calipers this afternoon.

All the coating is stripped off them and they are starting to rust! Not very happy!

Do you have to take the calipers off to repaint them or can it be done in situ?

No no, you wash it first and then you polish it.

probably better to take them off or wont get to all the fiddly bits.

best to take them off but you may be able to do it where they are so long as you mask everything, but the time its taken you to do this you could have removed them.

If you want to keep em on then mask off using kitchen foil it can be fixed to anything as it crumples up and wraps really well.

FWIW mine are just ordinary metallic grey I think...so paint 'em whatever colour looks good...didn't notice yesterday if your seats are red/half-red or not inside...if so red might be an option...

Use 00 grade wire wool to get any corrosion off of the calipers once they have been washed and dried, then a gentle polish will keep them looking OK. When you wash your wheels etc, do it yourself then you dont have to worry about the cheap chemicals the local car wash cowboys are using.
